I know some people don’t believe in getting in the Christmas spirit before Thanksgiving. If you don’t follow that rule (count our family in with this crowd), the Seattle Festival of Trees at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel is for you. And to make it even more worthwhile, it benefits two incredible organizations.

40+ Years of Seattle Festival of Trees

The Seattle Festival of Trees is an annual tradition in the Emerald City. Christmas trees are extravagantly decorated and showcased around the Fairmont Olympic Hotel (map). You can find trees on the hotel’s bottom floor, in the lobby and bar area, and upstairs in the rectangular walk above the bar and lobby. There are no set hours, the Christmas trees are always available for viewing.

All the trees are available for purchase, with all funds benefitting Uncompensated Care at Seattle Children’s and the Seattle Children’s Autism Center. The Seattle Festival of Trees are on display from November 21st through December 2nd — for those of us ready to celebrate Christmas in Seattle. The trees are then delivered to those who purchased them for their enjoyment during the holidays.

The Christmas trees stand between seven and eight feet tall, vary in thickness, and feature expert decorations. Some of the trees are fancy and shiny, while others have fun themes — like a tree decorated for the Seattle Kraken hockey team. All are fun for family and kids to enjoy at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel.

On top of that, the trees include the story of a patient who benefits from donations made during the event. You don’t have to buy a Christmas tree to help, you can get involved in many different ways.

Teddy Bear Suite at the Fairmont

For those who need to wait until after Thanksgiving to start celebrating Christmas (and those who are always down to celebrate), the Fairmont Olympic Hotel also does a Teddy Bear Suite (which is exactly what it sounds like — a suite full of teddy bears) from the day after Thanksgiving through January 2nd. Viewing hours are 10am-5pm.

There are many ways to get in the Christmas spirit in Seattle. There’s the Gingerbread Village (walkable from the Fairmont Olympic Hotel), Winterfest at Seattle Center, and so much more. However you choose to celebrate, the Fairmont Olympic Hotel gives you two ways to celebrate during the holiday season: the Seattle Festival of Trees and the Teddy Bear Suite. Don’t miss out on the holiday magic!
