After working in television news as a reporter and sportscaster for nearly 20 years, it was time for me to do something different. I left the business on my own after achieving my goals and simply missing my family. And now my path has led me to owning and running a full-service Seattle video production company called Moarly Creative.
Many of the skills that I learned in my television news career play a role in my new job at Moarly Creative. It’s all about storytelling. And in my career, it always has been about storytelling. That’s why I say my video production company specializes in visual storytelling. Or to put it another way we are professional storytellers.
I have my hands on every aspect of our video production at Moarly Creative. I am your contact point and I guide you through preproduction planning. On top of that, I conduct interviews and act as the creative director on shoot days. And I lead you through post-production all the way to final video delivery. I absolutely love every aspect of the video production process. I feel lucky to do this every day.
I’m often asked 1) what does Moarly mean and 2) what type of video production do you do?
Here’s the answer to the first question. Moarly Creative is a play off of my three grandparents names: Mohsie, Carol and Wally. Add the bold parts together and you get Moarly. You can click here to learn why I named my company after family members. And my logo has special meaning to me as well.
And now the answer to the second question. At Moarly Creative, we create any type of video you need. Some of our clients include Seattle staples like Microsoft, Sub Pop Records and HomeStreet Bank. But we mostly work with small to medium size businesses. And we work in any industry, doing brand videos, customer testimonial videos, nonprofit videos, how-to videos — you name it; we can do it.
And honestly, while we pride ourselves on being a Seattle video production company, we will go anywhere to capture a powerful story. Our video production team has traveled to all corners of the United State and anywhere in between. Our clients have even taken us to Iceland and there are plans to hopefully soon shoot in Honduras.
At Moarly Creative, I tell my crew that we grind everyday. Video production costs money and it is my goal to earn every penny we are paid. And on top of that, we aim to make every video we create portfolio worthy. That way we maximize your return on investment. Our success is your success. Not to mention, I’m a bit of a perfectionist. The words “good enough” don’t exist in my vocabulary.
If you haven’t gathered yet, I love storytelling. It makes for incredible video content. But it also allows you to meet people who are passionate, determined, caring, smart and thoughtful. I mean that in front of the camera and behind it. I love building strong relationships with my clients (I usually refer to them as partners or friends), many of which I have worked with for several years. We work hard but we have a ton of fun in the process.
When I left television, I wasn’t sure if I would find a new career that brought me the same joy as TV. But I have. In fact, starting and operating Moarly Creative far exceeds the joy of sportscasting. More importantly, video production allows me more time to adventure with Tove and our two kids. As you might imagine, working every evening and weekend in television isn’t conducive to family life.
I’d love to make you my next “partner” at Moarly Creative (learn even more). If you need any form of video production in Seattle or beyond, please feel free to contact us.
