It’s a Date! | Bainbridge Island Day Trip

It’s a Date! | Bainbridge Island Day Trip

While there are so many fun things to do on a date in Seattle, getting out of the city can be just as fun. Tim and I love hopping on a ferry and taking a ride across the bay to Bainbridge Island. The view of the Seattle skyline, the fresh air, the tasty food and exciting adventures make a Bainbridge Island day trip a great date. That’s why it’s our latest installment of It’s a Date! The great part about Bainbridge Island is that it feels far away, but it’s so close! It’s only a 30 minute ferry ride from Seattle. Ferries depart from the Seattle waterfront several times a day. Departure times change depending on the season, so we suggest checking the schedule online before you leave. You can either drive or walk onto the ferry. Tim and I have done both. There are plenty of great things to do on a Bainbridge Island day trip whether you take your car or go by foot. When you’re on the...

Valentine’s Day Date Ideas in Seattle

Valentine’s Day Date Ideas in Seattle

There’s no reason to dread Valentine’s Day because you don’t have any date ideas. That’s why we’re here. Seattle is oozing with awesome activities for you and your loved one. Whether it’s someone you just started dating or someone you’ve been attached to for the last 50 years, these Valentine’s Day date ideas in Seattle are perfect for everyone! Valentine’s Day Date Ideas in Seattle Space Needle We start our list of Valentine’s Day date ideas in Seattle with the Space Needle. Tove and I recently went to the top of the landmark during the day and night. While we both thought the view was more spectacular during the day, Tove said the experience was more “romantic” at night. We actually saw a couple get engaged on the observation deck the night we were there. The Seattle Great Wheel “You make my heart soar…like we are right now.” That’s the theme in a one-minute Valentine’s Day advertisement for The Great Wheel — Seattle’s waterfront Ferris Wheel. Sitting nearly 40-feet...

It’s A Date! | Take A Walk Around Fremont

It’s A Date! | Take A Walk Around Fremont

There are several unique neighborhoods in Seattle, but none or more original than Fremont (the self-proclaimed “Center of the Universe”). It’s sadly one of the neighborhoods Tove and I visit the least, but we’re out to change that. That’s why we recently took to the streets for a fun walk around Fremont, and it quickly revealed itself as a great date idea. That’s right, ladies and gentlemen…it’s the latest installment of It’s a Date! Tove and I started our walk around Fremont with a stop at Fremont Coffee Company (459 N. 36th St.). Located in what seems to be an old house, Fremont Coffee Co. makes some of the best “bean juice” (that’s what our barista called it when we were there) we’ve tried in Seattle, and it’s a great place to begin your date. It’s a quiet atmosphere with multiple rooms, so you can sit and chat or take your coffee on the road. NOTE: Keep your eyes peeled for the free ‘Walking Guide to Fremont’ maps. You...

Holiday Date Night in Bellevue

Holiday Date Night in Bellevue

Let’s just start by saying Bellevue knows how to get in the holiday spirit! If you’ve never spent an evening in Bellevue around Christmas, then you’re missing out. Tim and I love this time of year, which is why we jumped at the chance to go on a holiday date night in Bellevue. The night included ice skating, “snow,” a visit with whimsical holiday characters, a fun dinner and a stroll through a garden decked out with hundreds of thousands of Christmas lights. Without further ado, here is our latest installment of It’s a Date! We started our holiday date night at the Bellevue Magic Season Ice Arena. Located in Bellevue Downtown Park (NE 1st St. & 102nd Ave NE), it’s the largest outdoor holiday skating experience in the region. With holiday decor, plenty of music and a whole lot of people having fun, Tim and I found it the perfect place to start off our date. Tim played hockey as a kid, so he is a natural on the ice. It was...

Chihuly Garden and Glass Date Night

Chihuly Garden and Glass Date Night

If there’s one thing Tove and I have been itching to do since we both moved back to Seattle, it’s Chihuly Garden and Glass at Seattle Center. Just like everyone that walks by, we’ve stood on our tip-toes and looked through the bushes to see as much as we can. Thanks to an invite for a special event there recently, we finally had a chance to get inside and also eat at the exhibition’s Collections Cafe. It turned out to be an awesome night, so that’s why it’s the latest installment of It’s a Date! We suggest starting your Chihuly Garden and Glass date night at the exhibition itself. The museum shows off the artwork of Dale Chihuly throughout every stage of his distinguished glass blowing career. Take a walk through the exhibition hall, glasshouse, and the outdoor garden (which sits at the foot of the Space Needle — the one you’re always trying to peek into). A native to Tacoma, many of Chihuly’s masterpieces are inspired by his Northwest roots. With...

Capitol Hill Date Night | Oysters, Margaritas & Bowling

Capitol Hill Date Night | Oysters, Margaritas & Bowling

Tove and I aren’t huge planners, so we always take a “let’s wing it” attitude for our dates. We usually pick a place to start and then simply see where the fun takes us after that. That’s exactly what we did recently for our Capitol Hill date night, and as usual, it turned out to be an awesome experience. NOTE: We’ve been told that Seattle Bloggers is great for date ideas, but we’ve never written an actual “date night” post until now. Here’s the good news — there are plenty more to come. This is our first installment of It’s a Date!, a new series that will feature our fun dates around Seattle and elsewhere. We started our Capitol Hill date night at Taylor Shellfish (1521 Melrose Ave.). Tove and I are crazy about oysters and we heard nothing but great things about this place. It definitely lived up to the hype. We ordered 18 oysters (some of the freshest we’ve had in Seattle), a cup of oyster stew, and a...
